Sciton BBL Treatment Aftercare Instructions

Congratulations on completing your Sciton BBL treatment! To ensure the best results and a smooth recovery, please adhere to the following aftercare guidelines:

Immediately After Treatment:

  • Expect Mild Redness and Swelling: It's common to experience some redness and swelling similar to a mild sunburn for a few hours up to a day or two after treatment. This is a normal reaction.

  • Cooling the Skin: Apply a cool compress or use a gentle fan to soothe the treated area if necessary. Avoid using ice directly on the skin.

First 24-48 Hours:

  • Avoid Heat: Stay away from direct sunlight, hot showers, saunas, and exercise for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment to prevent additional swelling.

  • Sun Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to the treated area. Keep the area covered and avoid sun exposure as much as possible to protect your skin and maintain treatment results.

  • Gentle Skin Care: Use gentle, non-irritating skin care products. Avoid retinoids, acid-based products, and exfoliants until the skin has fully healed.

Subsequent Days:

  • Moisturize: Keep your skin hydrated by applying a gentle moisturizer as needed. Hydrated skin tends to heal better and may optimize treatment outcomes.

  • Makeup Application: You may apply mineral makeup after 24 hours if there is no significant discomfort or blistering on the treated area.

  • Handling Peeling or Flaking: Some treatments, especially those targeting pigmentation, may lead to darkening of the treated spots followed by flaking off. Do not pick or scratch at these areas to avoid scarring.

General Tips:

  • Follow-Up Treatments: Depending on your individual treatment plan, multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results. Ensure you schedule any follow-up appointments as recommended.

  • Observing Changes: Take note of your skin's response to the treatment. Mild improvements are often noticeable after the first session, with more significant results after subsequent treatments.

When to Contact Your Provider:

  • If you experience unusual side effects such as severe burns, increased pain, signs of infection (pus, excessive swelling, fever), or any other concerns, contact our clinic immediately for guidance.

Remember: Your skin is undergoing a healing process after BBL treatment. Patience and gentle care are key to a successful recovery and optimal results.
